Aint No Sunshine

Kris Allen did a great rendition of the Bill Withers song Ain't No Sunshine on American Idol.

Bill Withers, an American vocalist and hall-of-fame songwriter, was born July 4, 1938 and performed and recorded from 1970 until 1985.

Some of his best-known songs are the mentioned Ain't No Sunshine, Use Me, Lovely Day, Lean on Me, Grandma's Hands, and Just the Two of Us.

Bill was raised in a family of 9 children and he was the youngest. At thirteen his father died and he joined the United States Navy when he was nineteen. The time in the navy lasted nine yrs. It was under that time he developed an interest for music and singing. Since he couldn't find lyrics that expressed his own feelings he began writing for himself.

Bill began building his muscial career in Los Angeles in 1967 after the time in the navy.
